The only cool thing about this place is the name. Everything else is the most "been done" idea before. When opening this bar, I wonder if the owners knew that there was a NYC staple called Plan B in the East Village? Are they that unimaginative that they took a name of another bar in the same city???? Manhattan, Brooklyn, it's all the same place. I can understand naming it Plan B in another city, but, come on guys, amateur. Change your name and start fresh is my advice.
this is a fantabulous bar that's a sports bar right when you walk in, and then a food-service locale with 5 tables in the back for the faint of personality. i feel the need to emphasize that this is a bar that serves bar food, rather than a dining establishment to order deliver/take out from. Unless your standard staple is bar food, that is.
The bar is stocked with your basic 5 alcohol groups of vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, and liquor. the whiskey selection was surprisingly plush, including your standard jim beam, jack, maker's mark, and jameson, to 12 yr. glenlivet and glenfidditch. nice!
the bartender (luis) really made the place pop - all regulars were warmly greeted by a shake and pat on the back, and ALL patrons left with a handshake and personal send-off of goodwill.
definitely check out this impeccably maintained spot if you're in the area; 4-7pm 1/2 price happy hour on M-F, and WII bowling league on Tuesdays. Patio too!

For a while, I didn't want to post a glowing review because I didn't want to let people in on how great Plan B is and make it overcrowded. But the negative takeout-related reviews bringing down the rating just aren't a good indication of this bar. And anyway, why would you order takeout from a bar? I know they're plastering menus all over but they're a BAR. Their specialty is BOOZE.
And let me tell you, it is quite a specialty. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the prices are more Manhattan than Brooklyn (though I guess this just is an indication of what it's like to drink in Brooklyn now. Sadly). BUT. This is largely mitigated by the fact that they hand out free drinks like bar nuts. Every time I've been all the bartenders have been incredibly friendly and generous with free shots and free drinks. Nice flat-screen tvs for baseball and plus, they have Wii bowling!
I've slowly been working through the menu and the appetizers are the best (nachos and fried ravioli among them). They don't have dessert (yet) but if you ask for some, the bartender just might make you a shot that tastes like cake.
So anyway, go to Plan B for drinks, snacks, and a chill time where everyone is really friendly. That's all I want in a bar, and that's what Plan B does perfectly.

Found this place through Moveon.org and went there to watch Obama's acceptance speech in good company. Greg was so friendly, the staff were genuine and couldn't do enough for us. I felt like I was amongst friends even though I had never been there. I am so happy I chose to join everybody for this historic night. I am happy I heard of PlanB. Good people, good food and great drinks...........
Thank you Greg for extending yourself,
Deb

I recently ordered delivery from here and it was great so my roommate and I went in for brunch today. Where else can you get an awesome brunch (including complimentary mimosa) for under $10?
I definitely want to check out a happy hour here.

I hate PLAN B!!!
The opening of PLAN b, "Where people Eat, Drink and b merry", is a must visit for any SPORTS, brooklyn beer bar lover. Located in Brooklyn, in Prospect Heights on Vanderbilt Avenue it offers 4 flat screen TV's (rare in that area) and a restaurant to accompany its 10 Taps of delicious beer.
For appetizers, I Had the Toasted Ravioli, that and the spicy tomato sauce Is quite a match!
The sandwiches at Plan b RUN the gamut and are heavy on flavor: the Belgian Monk, the blackened chicken, a Cajun chicken cheesesteak, the strip steak sandwich with sauteed onions (yummy), ALL delish. What i really enjoyed is there now famous Plan b burger oozing with cheese INSIDE the patty (what? how did they do that?). That burger alone satisfied my crave for a week.
The beers are your bar room favorites', the staff is friendly, and I must say i really LIKE Laura (the bartender) a graduate of the "Hawaiian Tropic" school of Style and Grace. She has a following for her libations, and admirers (like me) to match.
Well then why do i hate plan b you ask?
Why are ALL the GOOD neighborhood bars cropping up in Brooklyn? I live in the city. and besides, the owner likes the RedSox, I love the Yankees!
I tip my hat to you Plan b, for a nice recipe for a local sports bar.
Cheated in Chelsea...

In the ongoing campaign to make Chris fat, Plan B has opened just a few blocks from my girlfriend's apartment. And there's no reason to think that I won't want to be there every other night.
It's a decent sports bar given its size (only 4 TVs, but a great outdoor patio for those who don't give a damn what A-Rod's OPS is), but its standard bar food - with a few twists - is the star of the show. The menu was limited when I went in, but the burger is juicy (a little too juicy to be easy to eat), served on a light, airy roll, and... stuffed with cheese! Yes, there is cheese INSIDE the burger. And somehow, the cheese wasn't scalding hot, but the burger was cooked all the way through. It's only American cheese, though... I wish there were other options.
As for the fries that accompanied it, they're perfect for someone like me who likes to bathe himself in garlic. The garlic parmesean fries are the real deal: shredded parmesean cheese and chopped garlic - not the sprinkled stuff out of a can. They really stink up the place, so beware of poachers who might want to saddle up and steal your fries!

Stupid watering hole for meathead ex-frat boys and chicks with high hair. This is the lame version of a neighborhood changing. Yeah, whatever, flat tv's. Like these 'sports fans' don't all have a 40" plasma at home anyway. Go back to Manny-hatty dudes!

I've never been to Plan B, but I do know that they've repeatedly flyered my building, in spite of a sign on our door that clearly says, "no menus, no flyers". This is the post-spam era, guys. Tthere are plenty of great bars in this area. Nobody needs to go to the one that obnoxiously spreads litter through the neighborhood.

Plan b, more like plan Y!!!!!
After looking at one of the umpteen million menus they peppered my apartment with, my wife and I decided to take a chance and order two salads (one with grilled chicken) and some guacamole. The person who took the order seemed nice enough and indicated that the food would be delivered in 15-20min - what could go wrong? 30min later (not too bad), a snotty little delivery guy gave me our order and I gave him 42.00 in return. After opening the food, I kept looking for the "rest" of our order. The salads were puny, and that grilled chicken I asked for - does (literally) one bite-sized piece of chicken count? In addition, they even had the stones to charge us 3..00 extra (15.95/ea salad) for that magical piece of chicken! I called the restaurant and expressed my utter dissatisfaction at the ridiculously small yet also overpriced salads. I was told by Mr. delivery boy - I guess he answers phones too - that the "chef" said that the delivery orders were actually larger than the food in the restaurant. Who do they serve, the lollipop gang? After I told him that I would love to come to the place personally to return my order, get my money back, and speak with the chef (the guy who put some lettuce and a crouton in a plastic box) myself, the same delivery guy (I think they have clones) returned moments later to give me back my money, minus his tip of course. I tried to show him the food so he could see why I was so upset and his only words of wisdom for me were "Dude, I don't make the menu". They've been open for six weeks. I can't wait to see what new sports bar/restaurant will be there six weeks from now. I hope they give you at least two or three pieces of chicken!!!!
